Looking forward to...

Lucy Fiona Crangle

...attending Fiona Crangle's "Be Prepared" opening today!

"Crangle's paintings explore the fiercely stubborn vulnerability of adolescence. Through their common iconography, the trials of young female saints merge with the contemporary Girl Guides' quest for badges of honour. Be Prepared is a voyeuristic glimpse at youth's idealism, a time when awakening desire quarrels with the desire to be good...." (from KWT Comtemporary web-site)

That will be interesting. I think I saw something of hers once, did she do like an old masters piece but with the outfit so it looked like a paper doll thing? Seems like it was her.

She did! We're blessed to have an 'undressed' kitchen maid hanging in our home (sounds a bit macabre doesn't it?). Fiona's work is amazing. Whilst the on-line photos are good, the luminosity is lost. The show was quite simply stunning.
