Nursery Rhyme Intrigue...

...And the dish ran away with the spoon.

#3 has been doing a little project about England and, of course, I found some way to digress into the oral tradition of nursery rhymes and their origins. I find that much more interesting than 'native animals of England' or Spotted Dick.

So...

It is has been hypothesized that Queen Elizabeth’s serving lady is represented by the dish and the spoon is meant to be the royal taster. The two servants fell in love, secretly eloped and ran away from the court.

Why is it that such useless trivia fills my head?
