It's not...

Green Landscape (Paysage vert),
Hilaire-Germaine-Edgar Degas c. 1890
...beginning to look at lot like Christmas.
Rain & green grass are conspiring
to keep the Christmas spirit at bay.

"Lyrical Economy"

Echo: Number 25, 1951 Jackson Pollock

Thanks to those of you who have sent notes of concern regarding my blogosphere absence...
The usual chaos of life somehow exponentially increased for a time... that's life & one must prioritize. My daily, two-minute blog vacation was sacrificed for good causes.

The Pollock work above has been described as demonstrating 'Lyrical Economy' (relative to earlier, 'explosive' works)...

I love the phrase. Sometimes the chaos of daily life can frazzle... henceforth, I'll strive for 'Lyrical Economy'.

Day of the Dead...

Great Great Grandmother, Great Great Great Grandmother,
Great Great Uncle and child (who passed in infancy)
"No one's death comes to pass without making some impression, and those close to the deceased inherit part of the libertated soul and become richer in their humanness." Hermann Broch

I like to think that we are all richer for the collective experiences of our ancestors, known or unknown.
